Advise on fixing the car
Hi all,
My car got rear ended . There are some scratches on the rear bumper (paint) and a big crack on the low under bumper (black bumper, no paint). I am just wondering. Can i replace just the lower black plastic bumper instead of the whole thing? Thanks. Do they sale them separately? I really don't want to lose the original paint.

I was rear ended in Dec and only the bumper was damaged. They were able to save the bumper and no paint was needed on the main body of the car. It was around $1400 and covered by the other driver's insurance.

I was rear ended in November, 10 days after I bought mine I feel your pain...
They were able to easily replace the black plastic underneath, and touch up the painted metal bumber near my parking sensors. Parts and Labor were only $850. Her insurance paid for it.
Make sure you have them check the exhaust all the way back to the block/cat... The plastic piece pushes against the mufflers, and makes them look deformed. Hopefully it's just that, and they didn't push or damage your pipes. My left muffler was hanging pretty low and out of the way from the crash...

I was rear ended and the damage to the bumper was $450 to fix, but don't forget that with Carfax recording the repairs, your car will be worth less and that loss of value to your asset is still a loss. The other parties insurance company also paid me $600 in diminished value plus 4 days of rental car since paint was involved.

So i dropped it off at the shop and got a rental. A new camry. I was surprised how roomy it is compare to my NX. WTH. A sedan compared with a CUV/SUV? The head room is more space, the back seat is plenty more. Even the trunk i think it's bigger than the NX. The LCD has the same software but much nicer graphic. Drive awesome too.
