CARGO CAPACITY 28 cu ft: The Proof is in the "Mulch"!
Folks, all the suspicions and mathematical calculations here are now proven to be true.
Thanks to a trip to Home Depot and the purchase of 9 bags of mulch, this proves without a doubt the cargo volume of 17.6 cu ft is up to the tonneau cover and the total volume behind the rear seats is 28 cu ft +-0.5 cu ft.

The wet mulch against your back seat is making me cringe lol
Where are the garbage bags to cover the back of the seats?
Also, how many more bags would you have gotten in there if you put the back seats down?

No, I don't play soccer!
I'm just wondering if corrado actually needed all those bags of mulch or if he's showing off
Great pictures. Backing up was probably interesting. The smell, well, not great but not bad either. I hope those bags were on the drier side. And none ripped open during removal. What's next? You could turn this into a challenge.

A couple of bags had the odd mulch piece coming out but no big mess. Garbage bags on the floor helped.
Indeed, I did that at Home Depot and drove home that way. At home, I realized the amount of mulch I had can prove the real cargo space and hence the setup and pics above.
Agreed. On a family vacation for example, many SUVs or minivans are filled to the ceiling so leveraging the side mirrors, camera, and parking sensors if equipped, helps.

I actually did the same thing a few weeks ago.
Only that I couldn't fit a new EGO cordless mower very well, (new toy... and too many other items in the back seat) so I had to make a second trip anyway.
Thank you for the pictures, and measurements once again Corrado, very useful info.
