One thing I've noticed is the line of sight through the back window. I finally removed the headrests from the back seats and it made all the difference. I can now see the entire back window. Of course if you have kids or tote people around you may not want to remove them...but if it's just you, it makes a big difference.

That's why you have side mirrors and a backup camera.

Back window really isn't needed. Heck, with box trucks and vans, sometimes you don't even have windows.

With the spoiler on my Camaro, I can't even see out my back window.

+1 Cube vans, trucks with canopies don't even have a need for rear view mirrors. Set up the side mirrors properly and no need to look out the back window. The back up camera is great to ensure there is nothing in the way, specially kids or pets.

BTW, anyone seen the VW commercial about the guy trying to use the back up camera to check out a girl. DAS AUTO

I did the same thing. My headrests are in the closet. I very rarely have more than 2 people in the car but if I will I will put the headrests back in for safety. I don't care about box trucks or Camaros, but I do care about being able to see whats behind me in my rear view mirror.

I removed the centre back headrest and found that a great improvement. I rarely will have 5 people in the vehicle. There is a perfect spot for it under the cargo mat by the spare tire....I keep it there for those rare occasions.

I think the Canadian version and the US version are different, I don't think the US version has 3 headrests in the back, only the two, so the line of sight would naturally be better without having to remove anything.

Interesting...I'm wondering about all these differences in the vehicle specs in various markets and how much it is to do with Lexus' market research and how much it is to do with governmental regs. I could see the headrest thing being a government regulation.

Actually I just drove the NX today and there is a small headrest in the middle, but it is much smaller than the other 2, so that is why I missed it, sorry about the confusion.

I agree the headrests are a big visual problem. But, rather than remove the headrests, I simply put the rear seats down.

If someone needs to use the rear seats, I simply raise the seats and the headrests are in place for their safety.
