Door opens itself while driving!
The exact same thing just happened to me. Driving on highway and lights went off saying door was open. I pulled over and closed the door. I was wondering if anyone had any follow up info on this issue. Has anyone had their dealer fix the issue? Getting car looked at by Lexus tomorrow.

Plenty of great responses here, and yes my wife's 'entry' procedures sound similar too. Even after she's given it a 'weak close' I tell her no open it up and slam it shut. (The door I mean
) I'm guessing the actual latching mechanism is to blame here. The sensor for the door being closed is a separate item I'm sure, I don't think the latch is truly secured with a light close and when you're at speed aerodynamics pull the door open. It's happened to me too but I've learned that it's only happening when I haven't given it a good hard close. Unfortunately you can't mess with the door while you're travelling down the road. I've managed to pull it really fast and hard and I can usually latch it most times but it won't let you try to fully open it and then close while moving.
Funny Lexus has had 'soft close' trunks and doors on their upscale models years ago, where you just have to lightly shut them then a motor pulls in the trunk or door to fully latch it. You don't get any such thing on our NX's. The front doors ONLY have an air tight rubber seal on them down the side of the door, it seals against the B pillar and the back door so there's a great seal, to give you the good ole fashioned THUD of a strong heavy door sensation. (European door systems have been using the tight rubber seals for years to make people think they're hefty and solid and more safe). This seal means you need to close a little harder than most people are used too hence the frequent occurrence we're hearing about here.
Why the back door would not close couldn't be the seal's fault, there's not one on the back door just the same latching mechanism though.
Maybe the latches are weak and we're now seeing them show signs of wear, mind you normally a passenger side door doesn't have anywhere near the same amount of use as the drivers door.

Not to make fun of this at all, but as a sidebar I cannot understand why Jeep owners etc that have removable doors actually drive around with out them in place down the road at highway speeds!
