Default First ding on the new car. Suggestion needed Thanks

My new nx350h got the first ding in the public parking. The paint seems ok. Any easy solution that I can hide or remove the ding instead of PDR? I know this is minor but the car is new.

It seems that it is very likely to get dings again in my area. I will wait for a few before doing the prd. I just want to know whether there is a way to hide the dings Or make it less visable before I take it for a fix by the body shop

The biggest issue with that type of dent, rather than the scratch, is that it's pretty much impossible to hide. It doesn't look like there is damage to the actual paint, but the issue is the smoothness - when you look at the dent off-angle, you will see it, as it will change the reflection, and it will be there. You could put a sticker or decal of sorts on it, but it will not look good. Unfortunately, PDR is really the only way to go.

Thanks for your explanation. Yes. It is quite hard to hide it. Not sure whether wax can make it less visible

The more shine you give that the more it will stand out. PDR tech will take that out 99%, I park far away from other cars walking is good for you.

Similar to sticker, you could put a magnet on it.

Maybe even a magnet shaped like a band aid.

Any chance it's in line with where the body side moldings would go? If it's close, (or in-line), the body shop might be able to cover it with those.

I had my dad do that on his RAV4, especially after the bodyshop said it was going to be tough to perfectly match the blizzard pearl white paint. It worked perfectly for him, and only cost $200, vs the $900 to repaint.

Great idea. I will check it. Thanks

I recently came across this product, but don't know how well it actually works. Color match wrap.

Lightbulb Body Side Molding ?

If you have to do public parking and the other cars are close then sometimes body side molding is the answer. Lexus body side molding looks better than most and can be added at Lexus dealer relatively inexpensive

YMMV,

I have them installed on my NX350h

They aren't half bad actually - not sure how much protection they give, as car doors are getting pretty wonky in terms of shape.

BSM looks good on your NX, (above) and will protect it for the most part.
