I’m a big fan of technology but this is getting too complicated IMO. This is solving a problem that doesn’t exist. Now we have to worry about iOS versions so we can operate our vehicle?

Does the vehicle also come with a standard keyfob? I’m perfectly fine with keeping it my pocket and grabbing the handle to open the door and not worry about magnets etc…

End rant. 😀

I also love and work in technology, but agree that it's a lot to deal with and a lot of redundancy... they gave us 2 fobs, the credit card key fob, and the digital keys... I guess so you can pick your preferred option.

I'm not sold on the digital key yet... something a bluetooth device operating my car makes me feel uneasy, if only because if I loose my phone they now have my credit cards in Apple Wallet and my car keys... more things to freeze cancel (not even sure how to cancel the digital key without a phone..). It's also unclear how this digital key works if you are in a valet scenario.. does the valet guest access let them drive the car freely with no key at all, do they have to download the Lexus app to take my car to parking, or do I have to hand over my smartphone? Definitely agree this one is way new and needs more time to even out.

Pharbor and all - the Guest Driver feature of the Lexus App will notify you that the vehicle is
being driven faster, farther, later than scheduled but it does not physically limit anything.
Driver doesn't even know that you know, no slowdown, flashing lights or tones, nothing.

Advanced class on forensic parenting, a day or two after the outing the vehicle path(s) will
be displayed in Driver Pulse. Miles, time of day, energetic maneuvers...parking spots all there.

Additional note on Last Parked Location. We can only see LPL, not current driving location.
If the car is stolen and you have contacted authorities you hit the Lexus Roadside link in the
Lexus App and ask them to forward current driving location to your Police Agency. We are
not getting this lest you decide to head out and confront the perps yourself and possibly get hurt.

I tested by enabling the feature and you are 100% right - all you get is app messages that a limit was exceeded.

Have you tried the digital key out at all? I registered mine a few days ago, but it did not work very seamlessly for me like a key fob, I had to open the app a couple of times to get it working. Might just be the ongoing issues Lexus is troubleshooting.

I'm most curious how Lexus intends the digital key to be used, I guess it's not a true replacement for fobs yet... might be cool to be able to share to others who have the Lexus app, though this is a very small (if ever) use case for me, but I still don't get how I would leave the car with a valet if I was using the digital key only.

Thanks for sharing details of these features, did not know it was just a notification and not a true limitation.

Question about Driver Pulse and Last Known Location. I don’t see either of these on my Lexus app. Is this only when the Guest Driver feature is enabled or is there a sub menu I have overlooked?

Lexus App features vary by the vehicle year and model. Our 2018 ESh app had a button to turn on the
hazard flashers for 60 seconds (hey kids, let's meet at Mom's car...the flashers are on) but the '18 did not
have the Driver Pulse tracking. Our 2020 ESh has the Pulse but no Hazard Flasher.

Got it, thanks for the info. I don’t need a computer telling me how I drove but interesting that their latest and greatest doesn’t have it.

Digging through the Lexus support page, this is the official compatibility list for Driver Score

It only tattles on the driver - sending a notification saying they drove too fast, far, etc. It does nothing to enforce the limit.
