Default Glove Compartment Door

My 2024 350F Sport glove compartment door just slam drops when opening. It seems Un Lexus like, even my 2004 4 Runner has soft open strut. Is that new normal or do I need new plastic damper? Can anyone else check and confirm this, please?

Sounds like your damper is pooched. Warranty claim for sure. Mine opens slowly.

Have you verified your damper is still attached? It is designed to pop off the glove box easily because you need to, in order to remove the glove box to access the cabin filter.

Visually looks attached at the door. I can't see up to confirm second attachment point at body. Does any one have part number for that damper?

Just for reference here a quick video on changing out the cabin air filter and how to disconnect and reconnect the glovebox door damper. If it's connected properly then it's pooched as others have indicated, should be covered under warranty.
