Default Satellite Radio Rewind

Hi NX owners,

One of the odd things about our NX is that it has icons to rewind Satellite radio stations, but they don't work like other cars I've used. In our Acuras, you can rewind any of your favorite channels for the duration of your trip, even if you have not tuned to them previously on that ride. I found the same thing during a recent vacation with a Camry rental. In the NX, it only rewinds to when you turn that channel on which seems unhelpful. Is this how it is intended to work or do I need to enable some setting to get it to operate like an Acura or Toyota?

I've got mine set to automatically rewind to the beginning of the song when I tune to a new Sat station, but I'm not able to rewind past the beginning of the current song. So yes, I can rewind to an earlier point in time compared with the time I initially tuned the station (which it does automatically), but I can't rewind beyond that point. I'm not sure if turning off the automatic rewind (I think its called Tune Start or something like that in the settings), just completely disables the rewind to earlier points before tuning, or offers even more rewind history. Might be worth a test, but for me just automatically rewinding to the beginning of the current song is more than good enough for my needs.

Good idea, I'll try toggling that setting and see what happens.

The Satellite channel "Radio Replay" feature works by recording up to 60 minutes of up to 20 of your SiriusXM presets. It does not record all 400 channels. It begins to record each time you start the car and erases all recordings when you shut off the car. When you surf through your radio presets, it will begin to play the currently playing song - from the beginning of that song! This will not be fully functional during the first couple of minutes of your drive because it will not have recorded enough material yet. When you scroll through your presets and stop at a favorite, you will hear the closing bars of the last song and then launch right into the current song. Optional fun: if you select the "Radio Replay" icon as the new song starts you will see a timeline along the bottom and a time stamp "2:13" (example) which means the song began 2 minutes, 13 seconds before you tuned in and the car has gone back and began playing for you at the beginning. When you have been listening for a while, you can repeat and rewind to listen to the song again (provided my wife is Not in the car to complain!)

Yes, this is what I'm looking for exactly. My Acuras do just this (although up to 2 hours of recording) and I also recently experienced it in a Toyota Camry rental.
In my NX450h currently, it only rewinds to when I turned on that preset. Do you know what menu I need to activate "Radio Replay" in the NX? Thanks so much!!

Go to Settings and then Sound and Media. Find "Tune Start". Note: as fun and useful as Tune Start is, be aware if you have News and/or Commentary stations among your presets, it will jump to the gaps between segments just as with songs. All's well until you hear an announcer call out the time of day. Quick glance at your watch to discover that they are off by a minute or 10! You are listening to a time shifted recording of the interview or story, and the time stamp will be off.

Thanks mcomer for these steps - will try this weekend.

Rewind is super useful for the news channels so you can skip commercials.

I think you'll are talking about the < arrow. You can replay that song but it doesn't work all the time. Catch it at the right time, you can play that song a number of times. I use that with XM and it's pretty nice.

I just checked and had tune start on. However, I was just hitting the back arrow multiple times. It appears you have to hold that for a second, which brings it back to vehicle start and/or 1 hour, then you can fast forward to where you want. Thanks everyone for your info above!
