However, having watched the review up thread, I'm concerned. All tires are a trade off, but the stopping distance of the CC2's I was thinking of getting worries me. Seems that distance is much longer than a "summer" tire in dry conditions. My X-Ice tires have 9&10MM depth left (lots of life), so I'm reconsidering my options and may just put on some good conventional 3 season tires while continuing to do the seasonal swap.
I'm of the same position as well. I also have about the same tread depth left on my OE tires too, and swap out for much better riding snows each winter as well. I've seen mentioned that Michelin's current all season Michelin Primacy 4 Plus Tire is due for an update to be named 'Primacy 5 Plus'. Hopefully they will rise to the top of the pack when it finally comes out, and hopefully when it's time to replace my tires too.

(update) Primacy 5 is coming!

I think Primacy also comes in a RFT version. I think I had that on my prior BMW (which had 17” wheels; the subsequent one had 18” wheels and the Primacy wasn’t available) and they were pretty decent.

That said, the prevailing wisdom is to stick with OEM tires if you liked them when new because the manufacturer goes through a lot of trouble to make sure they are putting a tire that provides the best driving experience so that customers test driving and comparing the car to competitors will want to buy the car.

"Additionally, the vehicle manufacturers have learned that if the driver is satisfied with their tires they are also likely to be satisfied with their vehicle, increasing their intent to repurchase the same brand of vehicle in the future."

Can you provide data, research and evidence for your claim?

This is good to know. I am usually a Michelin guy but I don't want the CC2 and Michelin has no competition for the Pirelli Scorpion AS+ 3. Hopefully it can give the Pirellis a good run for their money when I have to replace the RFTs.

you really need research and evidence that manufacturers, even luxury ones try to save every penny they possibly could?
I think what you need is to look around you and get a reality check.

They are not going to save much if nobody wants to buy their cars. There was a time when that was true (per the above tirerack article) but that is no longer the case.

Context matters. Your post was in response to a logical statement about tires. Claiming manufacturers are trying to get away with things is different than saying they are careful not to be wasting money.

My tires were ready for replacement. I decided to ditch the run flat tires. They felt stiff and I did notice the road noise.

I went with the Michelin. CrossClimate2 235 /50 R20 104V XL BSW. So far they are quieter and smoother. I also purchased the AirMan ResQ Pro + which was recommended by Consumer Reports. It includes a tire inflator and liquid sealant. It will fill small holes (smaller than 5mm I think) and allow you to get to a tire shop.

How's the MPG? One negative I heard on Acura RDX forums is lower MPG with the CC.

I have not noticed a difference. We do mostly drive in electric mode.

I went and looked, but the 450H+ just shows eMPG and miles per KWH. I could not find a history of MPG.

We drive up to the mountains during the winter so I prefer the better snow and rain performance of the tires.

It's difficult to tell with a plug-in hybrid.

But my 2020 RX-450h FSport loses about 8 - 10% with CC2 vs stock tires.

That fits with my recollection of what folks were seeing the with the RDX.
