Default Transmission isssue

Bought my NX 350AWD 2 months ago from local dealer 36,000 miles. When going from park to reverse there is a big jolt. First time I thought someone just hit me in the rear. This has happened approx 20 times. It’s random not every time. Of course it didn’t do it when I took to lexus dealer. They said no codes was showing in the history, Lead mechanic said he has seem this before but doesn’t know what to do, could be software update in the works w/lexus. Any comments!

I get a bit of a jolt sometimes going into D immediately after the first start of the day and engine and transmission are completely cold with the engine idling high in its initial warm up phase. Not enough to think anyone hit me, but enough that if my foot isn't decently firm on the brake it might try to push forward a little bit. If I "D" it right away and take my foot off the brake I can idle down the road reaching 40kph/25mph (it is slightly downhill) before the idle starts to come down a bit. So, I've taken to just giving it about 15 seconds after start and usually its just fine giving it just a moment to circulate some fluids and let the engine idle come off peak just a bit. I've just chocked it up to a cold transmission with colder thicker fluid and a high engine idle as I've never had anything "jolty" otherwise.

Minor jolt when ICE first kicks in. However OP's problems sounds like an issue that needs be looked at by Lexus service. I am truly amazed at the number of forum users that won't go to Lexus service or seek professional advice. Sometimes it is better to spend a few bucks $ to fix the problem quickly and usually the first time.

YMMV,

Problem has to be repeatable to fix.
