I am interested in purchasing a new 2025 NX 250 AWD Base model :
Almost all NX 250 cars I see online are with "premium package" (including moonroof etc). I contacted a local dealer and was told that they rarely get base model and if I really want I need to order online for MSRP and wait for a few months. Is he just lying to me, or indeed the base models are far less manufactured?

Go over here, put your ZIP code and see what is available at dealers lots around you, you will see how many total cars available nationwide. You can play with filters to show only what you like -> https://my.caredge.com/buy?radius=70...er=asc&start=0
Lexus has no problems selling 350h hubrids with Luxury package for big $$$$ they have not much interest in building cheaper cars for little $$

Our local dealer gets everything but not that many luxury nx350h so I was lucky to get one.
For the NX350, check out truecar.com also. Some dealers give discounts for non-hybrids.
Based on my observations, the base models, particularly the 350h, tend to sell very quickly. You'll often find more premium and luxury models available at dealerships. One approach you could try is visiting the official Lexus website and searching by zip code, using the filters to narrow down your options. Just a suggestion, but I highly recommend considering the hybrid variant over the 250—it makes a lot more sense, in my opinion.

Base model without premium package means no auto tailgate, alot of people can't live without it.
I got one as a loaner a couple weeks back. While it's not a 'can't live without it' feature....it just kinda reeks of 'cheaping out to force you to upgrade'. THAT annoyed me more than not having the power tailgate itself.
