Has anyone found a way to keep the tailgate open (to sit in the back area at a drive in, for example) without draining the battery?

 

The way I do it is to turn aircon and fan off and sit in ready mode. This way the ICE hardly starts up, if at all, and the 12v battery gets charged.

This is my standard mode for loading the car for trips and when washing the car too.
