Default CANBUS theft U.K. statement

At last a statement by UK Lexus. Will this be applicable to EU, Canada and USA models, and when?

wow. That's great. A lot of information.

This confirms the new 2021 fully new models have had significantly less theft.

It sounds like they are going to basically install immobilizers at the headlight or something for older models. before 2021.

LSFT in his UTs had discussed this awhile back- likely Public Key encryption added and NX Gen2 one of the first to get it.

They seem to imply their willl be some enhanced security measures soon. If true, I wonder if this will addresss the OBDII port access either by HW and/or SW. Right now, I have a physical OBDII port blocker, but that just slows a thief down a bit.
