Default Remote Park Function

I was messing about yesterday and found the screen attached. I touched the remote park option and it seemed to activate. Had a look in the main manual and starting at page 440 it talks at length about remote parking and abilities. But it indicates an app is required. Does anyone know if this is included in our regular app or is this an add on or separate app? I don't see anything in my app. Thought I'd heard a while ago that this wasn't available. Not sure if this was added as part of the recent software upgrade, though.

Hi there JasDmw! This was one cool feature I tried out shortly after taking possession of my '22 NX350h Executive back in November of '22. I believe it was initially on my App but wouldn't connect to the car once I stepped outside of the vehicle. The function soon disappeared with an early update to the App. I believe for 'liability reasons' it was removed, at least for us here in Canada. I have tried out the Advance Park feature a few times and made adjustments to increase the speed at which it performs the parking 'act' It's still pretty slow. And if you're in the middle of letting the car perform its maneuvering and someone or another car comes close to yours it cancels the procedure. So you pretty much have to be in a location where you don't anticipate any traffic approaching you, have perfectly painted parking space lines and are willing to sit and wait for the car to park at at least half the speed you could do it yourself with the aid of the camera views from the Panoramic View Monitor our cars are optioned with. I've turned mine on so that this also comes on automatically when I slow down while moving forward like at a traffic light or going thru a drive thru situation. It's impressive that you can see the curbing and other obstacles clearly and avoid the dreaded tire / rim rash from striking a curb.

The Advance Park can come in handy for parallel parking, it does great work at getting parked centred into your spot and close to the curb too. It is a little bit of a pony trick basically.

Just found this similar thread for all to review:

The last post on the thread above from idg states ' It was reenabled on the 2024....' Is it still available in USA?

Thanks for the reply and link. Just checked my app and the "park" icon is not there, so I guess it's still not enabled here.

Have used the advanced park function and like you, found it way too slow so I always park myself. Where possible, I like to park in end of row spots and on the line or very near the curb. Advanced park puts the car in the center.

Wife would use it though, severely parking challenged

I do the same, as I'm the main driver and with no passenger most trips I choose to park on an 'end' spot with a curb at one side to avoid dreaded door ding! Quick story, finished getting a few groceries a few weeks ago when we had that very high wind storm, wife texted and asked for another item so I turned around and went back. Chose a spot way out at far side of lot, no one around, came back to see another suv parked right beside me and close too. As I got close seen the driver had opened their back door which was positioned facing the wind so it would catch the wind. Got whatever they needed out of back and left me with a huge dent. Waited for her to come out and showed her the damage. Got her info, setup an appointment for a paintless dent removal at local Lexus dealer. $350 later, a small drilled hole in drivers door like when they rustpoof your car, so they could access inner side of panel, it's fixed and she reimbursed me. Oh that gut wrenching sinking feeling you get (not as bad as when you're car is stolen I'm sure) when someone has shown no consideration in a parking lot!

I HATE when that happens. Sorry to hear about it, but at least they fessed up and paid for the repair. Can't avoid all the stupid people, but we can at least try.

I have to find some time to play with the remote park. I was going to find a place where nobody was around to test it.

Also another story, we went to office complex to sign for some paperwork so we just pulled into a spot. Then a lady saw our nice vehicle or something, parked right next to us and opened her door purposely dinging our vehicle. Luckily we didn't see any dent. Some people either are jealous or just don't care about other people's property.
