Default Wiper Insert Replacements

Recently had my 20k/2-year service and my Lexus dealership suggested I pay $80 for new wiper blades. I checked with Bell Lexus and they suggested just replacing the inserts, provided the parts for my 450h+, then I followed this YouTube and it was pretty easy to do!

The parts for the 2022 NX 450h+:
  • Rear Insert [Link]
  • Passenger Front Insert [Link]
  • Driver Front Insert [Link]
If you prefer entirely new OEM wipers: (did not buy these, all these links were provided by Bell Lexus)
  • Rear Blade [Link]
  • Right Front Blade [Link]
  • Left Front Blade [Link]

I prefer doing the inserts myself.

Unless you have a love affair with particular aftermarket wipers, inserts are indeed the best way to go in my opinion. Retaining the OEM blades (provided they are in good shape) with new rubber is the best way to retain that like new original function. Back in my RX days I would have the Toyota dealer do them for me for $6 a side. But that was pre-Covid times so I imagine they cost a fair bit more today, but I plan to keep the OEM setup on my NX as long as possible using inserts.

I would stay away from a dealership that recommends replacement of the whole blade instead of the insert only.

For the past 14 years i only used replacement inserts on my Toyotas and Lexus without any issues.

Used to buy aftermarket blades before that, but found that they performed inferior during higher speeds cleaning.

You don't need to replace the blade, just replace the rubber inserts. I have had 10 Toyota or Lexus, never had I need to replace the wiper blade.
Also, found the Toyota original parts are the best in terms of ability to clean and longevity.
