How do I get Google Maps on CarPlay on my 2022 NX 350? I already have the app on my IPhone.

 

If you have CarPlay running you'll see Google maps in the app list.

Just took delivery of a 2025 NX350H. I can't use Google Maps because CarPlay says it needs Maps to be allowed to use my location on my iPhone, which it is already allowed to do.. Can anyone help? Thanks for any replies. .

Maybe just semantics, but you do realize that Maps (the Apple app) isn't the same as Google Maps, right?
Perhaps you're just choosing the other one? Personally, I would always want to have both with location enabled.

 

I believe Google maps needs location access set to Always.

Personally, I've seen too many errors on Apple maps. It has taken me to the wrong destinations (same address entered in both Google and Apple).
I stopped using Apple maps.

Same here, Google Maps on CarPlay has been super reliable for me. Love the updates too!

 

I wish Google Maps was compatible with the HUD, I would start using it.

 

But the current apple maps only showing a few characters does not help at all as well. But yes compatible with the HUD would be a plus for sure.

 

If Maps doesn't appear in CarPlay, reboot your car's system - this may help resolve temporary glitches.

 

I tried both Apple Maps and Google Maps. I used to like Google Maps but I have switched to Apple Maps. I haven't looked back since.
