Yeah, it's tough being a guinea pig. I am considering this, though. The center console is a high-traffic touch point. The rest of the gloss black in the interior is somewhat acceptable.
It would be nice to know how closely this matches the Black Open Pore Wood Grain panels on the doors.
I bought a similar one on AliExpress and it was just shiny plastic with white streaks in it to mimic wood grain from afar. It actually made the sun reflection problem even worse. I doubt that one will be any different.

These are not a decal. They're actually pretty sturdy plastic-like material. There's a slight sheen to it but the carbon fibre pattern evens it out leaving it all round easier on the eyes.
The guys at the dealership and the guys at my tire shop all lines the way this looks compared to the original piano black look.
Don't really have a photo before I installed the covers as the covers were one of the first "mods" that I did right after taking delivery of the car. But if you look below and compare to the photos above, covers >> piano black
I think I would keep my piano black unless I found a real black wood replacement. I think these replacements look tacky unless I was 20 again. Just my opinion.

Would like to match the black wood grain on the door panels. This looks slightly lighter. Is this the same as this black wood panel pieces on eBay?
Still shiny plastic looks... well shiny. I guess it is a little better than a piano black shiny, but still meeeh. There are other options out there, like matte black cover, or other wood grain looking covers like I got ;-) AliExpress has plenty of options, 90% of them are carbon fiber though lol but there are few other options you can find on Ebay and on the AliExpress.
