Is the AWD 2022 FWD based?
Depends which model of NX you are referring to, but generally the NX is indeed FWD oriented. The 350h is strongly FWD oriented since they only have electric motors at the rear. Rear drive is only active in certain conditions and typically gets up to 20% power at the rear at most. Most of the time in ordinary cruising it is 100% front drive. The gas NX350, the connection to the rear differential is controlled by a continually active magnetic clutch which varies from 20% to 50% power distribution as needed. Slip at any one particular wheel is controlled by brake activation to send torque to the other side.
EDIT: I looked up the specs, 1 small mistake and 1 additional fact. The NX350 AWD is actually spec'd at 25% to 50% power distribution at rear. The NX250 uses Toyota's regular "Dynamic Torque Control" AWD, which is 0% to 50% power distribution to rear so it runs around mostly on FWD unless situation requires rear drive.
