Have an iPhone 14. Works like a champ.

 

Let me understand. You connected your iPhone 14 to the front USB-C port and it launched CarPlay? In my case, I connected my iPhone 15 pro to the same port using the braided USB-C cable provided by Apple and could not get CarPlay to launch. When connecting to the USB-A port (and of course, USB-C to the phone), it did launch. I will try again just to confirm.

 

You'll want to use the USB A port for wired CarPlay. The USB C port is only for charging.

 

I have the 13 Pro and the only issue I have is that when I am listening to Apple Music and Siri is reading a text it doesn't stop the music. It lowers the volume a little but doesn't stop. If I am listening to something else like audible it stops the app while reading a text or if I am replying. Can't figure out what is causing that or how to "fix" it.

 

CarPlay automatically launches wirelessly for me. Not sure how I could get it to only launch when wired. I had a 14 Pro Max and now a 15 Pro Max on the latest iOS 17 release. For the old release I sometimes couldn’t connect unless I restart the car or the phone. I haven’t had problems since the new release with connection, but Google Maps is now quirky with showing navigation unless I’m actually routing to a destination. It’s only been a week with the new release though.

 

Can’t text using Siri. And when talking on phone only 1 speaker

Have iphone 13 , when i reply to text messages using blu-tooth it repeats the same message to all replies. its like something is stuck on it

 

I put an AirTag in my car last week, then started noticing all CarPlay audio (Spotify, podcasts) would only play through the microphone. Once i removed it, the problem has seemed to cease. Has anyone else had this issue?

 

My girls 2019’Kia Soul integrates CarPlay with the car bigger than my new Lexus. Maybe there are settings I haven’t found, but it reads text messages without muting the music,

I was hoping for a split screen, where I could have Lexus on one side, and CarPlay on the other.

My 2017 Tacoma let you cut the screen into three pieces.

 

After IOS17, it's a lot better, still happening once a while, but a lot less frequent.

Has anyone had issues with their audio cutting in and out while playing music through CarPlay? The issue occurs haphazardly while I’m playing podcasts and Spotify. The audio will just cut off for a second, then continue playing. It could be once or multiple times within one song/podcast. It’s not frequent, but still annoying, and def not something I want occurring on an expensive vehicle like this.

 

Sounds like you might be driving thru a cellular dead zone. We have several in our area.

 

Have you tried to plug in your phone during the same exact commute. Plugging in will always give you better reliability over wireless bluetooth.

I’m happy Lexus still offers this feature, most manufacturers like BMW do not allow plug anymore.
