My wife is looking for a used car, We have considered all SUVs and there is only one that fits the bill, NX200t.

We are concerned about issues with Lexus (and Toyota) white paint.

White is our preferred colour, but we are concerned that Lexus white is potentially a problem (peeling). Internet search seems to point to the Blizzard Pearl (070) and Super White (040) and also 062 Crystal White as being problematic..

Lexus cars sold in Australia (which is where we live) are assembled in Japan. The 2 white colours on Australian NX200t cars are 085 Sonic White and 083 Nova White.

Please anyone advise what you know/have experienced with Lexus white colours.

I'm not aware of Toyota paint issue. At least in North America.

 

My 2014 IS and 2018 ES was eminent white no issues.

My 2022 ES eminent white no issues.

My neighbors KIA is a metallic white and it was coming off. He, along with the dealer, repainted it.

 

2005 Lexus ES330, Crystal White Pearl Tricoat, no issues
2008 Lexus ES350, Crystal White Pearl Tricoat, no issues
2012 Lexus ES350, Starfire Pearl Tricoat (white), no issues.
2015 Lexus ES350, Starfire Pearl Tricoat (white), no issues.
*2018 Subaru Forester 2.0XT Touring, Crystal White Pearl, info offered but NOT relevant to question, no issues. Even wrapped it for awhile and removed wrap with no issues to paint.
2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid, Wind Chill Pearl (white), no issues.
2021 Lexus ES300H, Eminent White Pearl, had a LOT of paint chips in front grille surround area from stones.
2023 Lexus NX45H+, Eminent White Pearl, no issues yet (owned 2.5 months). Installing Paint Protection Film on Front only due to excessive paint chips on 2021 model above.

Have NEVER used Paint Protection Film or Hood Guards on any vehicle owned. Have ALWAYS kept vehicles clean and either waxed or now ceramic coated.
