Hi! Apparently it seems that this is a common issue with NX and RAV4 models of this generation given the number of people complaining about it. Replacing the dampers did improve things ever so slightly, but the clunk or knocking sound is still heard on some bumps!

Hi, thanks for the update... I guess I'll just drive it for now and observe... will probably just have it done when I bring the car in for Service for the first 1000km check up.

Interesting I just found this thread. Mine started at 22k miles as a very loud and harsh metallic squawk, then quieted to a growl going over railroad crossings, etc. Seemed to be on the drivers side as well. Mine was Japan built probably Oct-Nov '22; I got about 7 week delivery around Dec20 '22. Sounded like a stone got into the a arm pivot somehow. "Nothing found" at the dealer a week later. I'll have to track it down soon, winters coming, I don't have a car hoist, and we intend to keep the car until it's junk.

Default I got a solution for this issue.

Had checked with a few people I've met locally and 2 of them have reported the same issue with theirs. Brought the car to my local Lexus dealer and provided them with a video recording showing the apparent sound and they decided to replace both Front Shock Absorbers/Dampers under warranty. After driving the car for about 2,000 kms since, the clunking sound did improve ever so slightly (could be a placebo however), though it is still apparent on most occasions. Is this normal and is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I've also noticed a relatively soft squeaking sound on the rear of the car when going over speed bumps/humps on the road. Seems this is suspension related as well since the sound is highly dependent on the amount of compression generated by the shocks when going over said bumps. Is anyone experiencing these issues as well?? I don't presume this is a lemon since I've had a few people share the same issue on their new NX as well.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

I own a nx200t 2015 Fsport

the suspension was making exactly this noises over speed bumpers. And returning fast an knocking the full extended limit. As the oil was not leaking I suspect the gas had leak. Disassembled both rear and front and all was with no pressure. Re pressurize them and it stoped the weirds noises and bad feelings driving the car. Now is to see for how long it gonna last

Mine has done this since new. I chalked it up to the ride just not being as comfy as my Lincoln MKZ.

I’m having an exactly like your model year and spec. same sound, no leaking and feel like a jammed shock. Shake the car the shock barely work, going to take out the shock for further inspect.

Mine front clunking as well.

By the way mind to share What pressure you fill the shock?

Made a post about it and I asked the dealer to check when I was there for a recall, but tech said couldn't replicate the problem. after I took my car back, It didn't happen as often as before, so not sure if they did something to it. just Curious what's your tire pressure ATM?

Have the similar issue and dealership found out it was caused by bad front struct. They have already ordered the new struck and related components for replacement. It will be covered under warranty.
