Need Some Input from NX owners
Hi:
My first post here. I am planning to buy either a NX or RX model. However, I am getting conflicting information from different sales people. Few years ago Toyota had announced that starting 2021 they would implement automatic engine shutoff if the vehicle is left unattended. (Press release: https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-...hicle-line-up/ ).
Bear in mind this is different than auto stop and start feature when you are at a traffic light. Pl. watch a short 3 min. video (of course it is for a Toyota) to get the idea.
Does 2022/2023 NX have that feature?
TIA

Looks like its a new feature that will shut off your car after a while if you unintentionally left it on.
If you start your car by remote start, it will shut off after 10 minutes of idling/warming up.

What will cause the Vehicle to shut off once started via Remote Vehicle Start?
Once started via Remote Vehicle Start, the vehicle will shut off due to any of the following circumstances:
• The 10-minute vehicle run-time has expired
• Pressing the Remote “Stop” button on the app
• Doors / Trunk / Hood are opened*
• Ignition turned to ACC*
• Door unlocked by Key fob or key card, Key, Digital Key, or Smart Entry*
• Foot brake is pressed*
• Vehicle is shifted out of park*
• Alarm has been triggered
* Select model year 2022 and newer vehicles equipped with Lexus Remote Connect will allow you to remote start and drive-off. You can review your vehicles features and capabilities within the Lexus app or refer to your Owner's Manual .

■ Auto power off function ● If the vehicle is left in ACC or ON (the engine is not operating) for more than 20 minutes with the shift position in P, the engine switch will automatically turn to OFF. ● If the battery is low with the shift position is in P and the engine switch is in ACC or ON (the engine is not operating). The engine switch is automatically turn to OFF. However, this function cannot entirely prevent the battery discharge. Do not leave the vehicle with the engine switch in ACC or ON for long periods of time when the engine is not operating.
