Tires for 18" wheels
Dumb question but should we be looking at H vs V for speed rating?
My wife ran over something and destroyed her one tire. The rest of the OEM tires are about 50% done so rather than replacing one tire and having mix matched we are replacing all.
I see two different speed ratings on Costco's tire site for the same tire.
Michelin - Primacy Tour A/S. One has a speed rating of V which is $220 per tire, and the other has a speed rating of H, which is $214 per tire.
V= 149mph
H= 130mph
I can't see my wife going EITHER speeds...lol Is it safe to go with H? I'm not home to look at what is currently the speed rating on the OEM Geolander but figured I'd ask.
Thanks,

Yes, the higher speed rated tires need the stronger sidewall to handle the additional stress of higher speed. H rated tires also have a cap ply to hold the steel belts in place, speed rating lower than H usually do not have this ply and speed rating higher than H sometimes have multiple cap ply.
Just an update on the Michelin - Primacy Tour A/S. Costco installed them yesterday. I am very pleased at how quiet the tires are compared to the Geolander. The entire ride is smoother and much quieter. I didn't realize how crappy those Geolanders were until after the switch...smh.. Seems so stupid that Lexus used that tired on a "Luxury" SUV.
Good thing is we'll never have to use/drive with those Geolanders again. w00t w00t!

Not sure how many miles you had on Geolanders, but assume enough... So, taking off worn tires and mounting nice Michelins will, of course, make huge difference.
Also, in the past I tried H-rated vs V-rated (had sportier car with stiffer ride and wanted to soften it a bit) but found pretty much no difference in ride and very negligible in handling.

She had about 30,000 miles on the stock geolanders. Just had the vehicle inspected about 2 weeks ago and I think there were still about 50-60% tread left according to the tech. Only reason we replaced all of them is because my wife ran over something and got a flat tire so rather than replacing with the stock geolander and then still having crappy tires all the way around that were not going to wear evenly decided to get all new.
