First Problem
It finally happened. I have had 13 Lexuses and never had one single problem. Went to start my 2017 NX200 F Sport yesterday and it wouldn't start. Got all
sorts of messages (awd problem, parking brake problem, hold problem, and others. Nothing worked electronically, but had note saying "Ignition On". IEngine
not on, but ignition was. Plus, I could not turn it off! Called dealer, said bring it in they called AAA and it took them so long I disconnected the battery, because it
was being drained, could not turn ignition off. Finally got AAA out the next day, have not heard from them yet, but will update when I do. Very perplexing.

On my 3rd battery in 5 1/2 years. Told by dealer that the stop/start system with the 2litre turbo places a heavy strain on the battery. They replaced the battery on this occasion with an expensive heavy duty deep cycle usually
reserved for more hard core suvs.
The failed battery caused over a hundred codes to be triggered and the car needed to be ‘reinitialised’, whatever that meant.
Car running fine with new hardware.
Thanks for reply. If bad battery all that is the problem, I went through a day of hell and had car towed for nothing. I guess
they would have to "initialize", but thought service person at dealer would have brought this possibility up. Still havent
heard from them, but will advise. Thanks again for the info.

I’ve only replaced one battery on all my Lexus vehicles.
My 2nd Gen RX battery started failing about 3 years in. First the round clock wouldn’t keep the correct time. Then the XM Presets cleared out.
Took it in and dealership replaced the battery.

Got the car back today. All they did was replace the battery. No real explanation on all the error msgs or why I
could not turn off the ignition, just "low or bad batteries can sometimes mess with the electronics". Everything
seems ok now (after resetting all the instrument and radio settings). I think I'll try a better battery when
warranty runs out. Thanks to all for input.

We bought our 2018 NX as a CPO and when we took it in for 50,000 mile service the dealer replaced the battery as it tested bad. We weren't having any issues with the car and it was covered under warranty so they weren't trying to make a buck off of us. Just good customer service.
