Default AWD issue

Ran over a tire in middle of road 2 weeks ago. Tire had wheel still in it. Bounced over the wheel. Damaged undercarriage, blew out 1 rear tire.

Had undercarriage repaired at a dealer 2 weeks ago. Cost $1700

Yesterday my AWD off warning came up on my car. Said to bring in to dealer.

Asked if it could be tied in to the damage caused to my car from the accident. Was told it had nothing to do with the accident and would cost $450 to repair

Concern is that this is quite a coincidence that it happened shortly after the accident.

Are the two connected?

Looking for advice.

What does the $450 replace or repair? Is it a wheel rotational sensor?

^I'm with G Man, what was in that $450 repair? It does line up with an ABS/speed sensor replacement cost but they should also check axles and bearings while in the area.
