I am using a Sandisk 8GB flash drive. It is formatted correctly and I extracted the zip to the flash drive and when I insert the flash drive into my Lexus it still says No Music Files.

The update should automatically start when you insert the thumb drive into the vehicle. Make sure you have formatted the drive correctly and also make sure you extract the contents of the file onto the root of the thumb drive. Don't make other folders and don't drag and drop anything.
If it's coming up and says no music files then you are not doing something correctly.
I think I used a 16gb thumb drive when I did the update. I'd have to go and find the thumb drive and post back.
EDIT: I found the drive and I used a 64gb one.

You can only use Windows to format the USB and copy the files. No MAC or Linux.Originally Posted by Jvrnb

I attached photos of how I have it formatted and how it is extracted on the drive. Let me know if this looks correct since I am still having the problem with it showing no music files found when inserting the flash drive.Originally Posted by nigel821

Format
Looks good to me. Try to uncheck ‘quick format‘ to do a full format.
And possible you plug in the top USb inside the console? Only 1 of the 2 usb will work.

Tried the full format and tried both USB ports and still got the No Music Files Found. Not sure what else to do that this point.Originally Posted by End1ess

weird never heard someone here had this issue not detect their firmware files. I guess you can ask friends to borrow different brand USB to try. I use an old 8GB kingston no problem.Originally Posted by Jvrnb

Did you try put some mp3 on your usb see if the car detect the music files?

Might want to have a conversation with a service advisor at a Lexus dealer. They might do it next time you bring in for service.
can you please PM me the link? Originally Posted by patfox

Search Toyota Nation for Apple CarPlay files for Lexus.Originally Posted by fuadghida

It will bring you to a thread that's like 70 or 80 pages long The files and link is in the first post.
Follow the directions and you can install Apple CarPlay zero issues.
