I am looking into getting a chargepipe for my car. For those who have installed it, did it do anything for you? I’m not looking for big gains but I’d be happy if I could hear more of the turbo sounds and if there was a function to it. Don’t want to get it and have it do nothing lol. I’m leaning towards the one from HPS
AEM CAI, HPS red charge pipe, and custom CNC'ed turbo muffler delete. This is my own speculation but also another member on here I discussed this with noticed that you lose some low end power but gain in the high end range. So as of now, all this is for the WOW factor and little to do with performance. OVTune is next for me.
Also even with all this fancy stuff, the turbo sounds are very soft although unlike before, is now present. If I have my music going you won't hear it. Don't think it'll sound like a Supra with an aftermarket blow off valve.
If you want to increase turbo spool sounds then you are better off getting an intake system. An alternative is to open the cover from the stock box or replace the stock box with an aftermarket filter.
A charge pipe alone will not add power. It serves no purpose unless you plan on adding excessive boost. It is mostly seen as a durability mod since the stock pipe is fragile and can separate, but don't think it would be an issue if you are running stock with minor engine mods.

Yep, that does sound like my experience. I still can't think of a clear explanation for why my NX's low/mid-range dipped after the FTP charge pipe installation, when the inlet and outlet both retain factory dimensions. Higher volume > lower velocity, perhaps?
OrangeVirus had to modify their tune to bring power in that zone back to former levels. Below is the post-tune dyno for my NX. The engine did get stronger at the upper-end of the rev range. Since I haven't seen gains of 50awhp from other tuned, stock 8AR vehicles, I'm inclined to pin the gain on the increased charge pipe volume.
All of this was observed with the mindset that the charge pipe replacement is nothing more than a cosmetic mod. The gains were definitely a pleasant surprise after the low/mid-range was sorted out. If you want more turbo sounds, an intake and a turbo muffler delete might yield more than a charge pipe replacement ever will.
