Badging question
So as some of you may recall, I am waiting for the 2022 NX to come out.
One thing I am considering to make my NX stand out just a little from the crowd is to black it out. However, recent Lexuses have had solid emblems on the trunk/hatch, rather than the older style that were open and allowed the underlying vehicle paint to be seen through them. As it happens, my 2004 RX has the older open style emblem on the back. I'm assuming the 2022 NX will have the same solid emblem as current NX's and other Lexus vehicles. Assuming this to be the case, would I be able to swap emblems between the two vehicles? I would measure the new emblem and compare to the old if I had access to a contemporary Lexus, but I don't know anyone who has one.
If you wonder why I ask, I'm not a fan of a blacked out vehicle that still has the chromed emblem on it. If I'm going to black it out, I am going to black it ALL out.

I probably should have explained further...plasti-dip is what I will likely use. My concern is that I believe blacking out a solid oval emblem looks lame; not to mention, you can't tell what kind of vehicle it is. Is it a Lexus? A Ford? Or, God forbid, a Kia? Much better to have the Lexus 'L' visible in black against the red background.
Oh I see what you mean now with the solid emblems, not many 2021's in my circle I'm so used to the older style. In this case, I would consider a custom vinyl overlay where you can mix in different layer/colors of different gloss to make the lexus shape pop.
I've been looking myself at options for the front emblem but since I have the collision detection, options are extremely limited. Have been toying with the idea of using colored tint vinyl like they do for racing headlights.

Over in the RCF group you can easily take the older Lexus L symbol that shows the paint through it off, and put on the newer style one piece that is all black. Take a hair dryer or headgun and remove the old badge. Remove the double sided tape and clean it up, the put new badge on. It's like a 10 minute job to do. A new lexus badge is $40 or so, it's cheap.
