Exclamation NX 200t AWD System Malfunction

Hi All,

I've had my 2015 Lexus NX200t (62600 km now) for about 2 months now and I am really happy with the car. Yesterday I was coming back from a weekend trip and noticed absolutely nothing odd about the car.

This morning I start the engine and I see the error message on the screen "AWD System Malfunction 2WD Mode Engaged" with the 'Check engine' light on however when driving the car it feels no different than usual and the only difference being that the cruise control cannot be statred. I am planning on seeing my dealer to have it checked but wanted to see if anyone else came across this problem and what could be the potential cause.

Many thanks in advance and apologies if this has been discussed already.

I had the same issue about a year ago on my 2015 NX200t. Took it to the dealer and they repaired it with no charge. They said it was a software issue and did an update.

Thank you so much for your reply! Turns out that I had to wait a couple of days for my appointment to get the error code checked so I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and when I connected it back the error message was gone and it has not popped-up since.

possible bad move, if the computer did not retain the code, the dealer has nothing to troubleshoot from and take action on. If a cel is not flashing, you can drive with it on until getting into the dealership. Good luck with your issues/repair.
