Default Leather Pouch Removal

Hello,

The battery on my key fob is low and needs to be replaced. I can't remove the leather pouch without ripping or over stretching this strap. I really don't want to tear it. Anyone else had this issue and can help on how to remove it? Thanks!

Just move the strap to the side. It should be flexible.

I finally got it last night, AFTER I made this post, of course.

Insert the mechanical key tip back into the fob cavity 90 degrees from its regular angle.
Twist the key to "shuck it like an oyster" and separate the fob halves.

His question is not how to open fob. Question is how to remove the leather pouch without tearing elastic strap on it.

I know you've taken care of this problem, but just as an FYI, I've always taken all my Lexus fobs, including the two that have the leather pouches, to my Lexus service advisor, and they've quickly and easily replaced the batteries for FREE!

Currently my other car is an Audi...and the Audi dealer provides the same FREE service.
