Amazon Basics Oil
Has anybody tried the Amazon Basics Oil in their NX yet? I've been hearing great reviews and it's SN+ which is supposedly good for turbo vehicles. I'm coming up for an oil change and want to try this oil out.
Our company's the Philippine distributor for Warren Distribution's in-house brand, MAG1. They're the manufacturers of Amazon Basics and a LOT of big brands out there and are the largest independent blender in North America. We've been to their Council Bluffs IA and Houston TX manufacturing plants, and they're as good as it gets, specially the newly opened Houston facility.
I've been running the 0W20 in my NX ever since the 1,000 Km mark with no issues. I did fill 5W30 one time and responsiveness suffered a bit, but that's more a viscosity than a quality issue.
As for the SN Plus API grade, this particularly addresses the low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) issue that affects newer direct-injection, turbo, gasoline engines. API and other companies studied detonation issues and found out that tiny motor oil droplets mixing with the fuel-air mixture caused ignition way before the spark plugs fire. The improvement in formulation helps prevent this.
Hope this helped.
