Default ipod classic with NX 300H

I have a 2018 NX 300H and I have connected my ipod classic to the sound system via a male to male audio cable. The music plays but there is no song/album information displayed on the dashboard. How do I get this to work?

Male to male auxiliary 3.5 mm cables only transmit analog audio and not digital data such as album art and other metadata. You could try plugging the iPod in using the original USB cable, which I assume is still the Apple 30-pin connector. Even then, I can't guarantee if it'll transmit such data through or if the iPod is already too old for Lexus' system, however archaic the latter may be. Hope this helped.

I thought of this as I was driving my car today. It needs the other cable to transmit information. I will try it and thank you for your response.

I have an iPod nano (I think) in my truck and it transmits the digital information. It is hooked up with the 30 pin usb cable.

I use a 32-pin to USB cable and get the info on my non-nav screen.
