Suspension Problem
SO I purchased a 2015 NX200t that has 3800 miles on it. I thought it was a great deal until the last snow storm. While driving to work in the heart of the storm the main highway by me I guess has ice under the snow and my car and steering wheel was literally shaking like crazy and felt like I was driving on rocks the whole way to work.. Long story short since then my car has been taking bumps really harshly and everything felt in the floor of the car is also felt in the steering wheel.
I have since put on brand new tires because the tires on the car while had full tread where dry rotted.
So when I looked up the history to this car I saw it sat on a dealership lot for almost 3 years before it was purchased. I really didn't think much of it when I purchased it but I have brought it to the dealer and they blamed the harsh ride on the tires which I replaced yesterday. The car does drive a little better but its still not driving right.
I feel like the suspension may be to blames since an inspection under the car doesn't seem to show anything loose.
Im curious to trying to figure out if because the car sat for that long if the springs or strut themselves have been damaged.
I lifted the boot for the front struts while the car was parked normally and I could barely get two fingers between the top of the cylinder and the strut stop (foam piece that slides on piston of strut)
Anyone have any insight its greatly appreciated..

The suspension wouldn't have issues from sitting. Only thing I can imagine happened is all that vibration on your drive to work that one day caused some bad wear to some bushings or something in the suspension. As well, have you had an alignment done since all these issues? Also, what kind of tires did you put on the car?

What bushings would you think could of been affected?
I want to see if I can find a way to compare the ride height of my NX with a newer NX.
Thats why I reached in the the strut to see how many fingers I could get in-between the strut housing and the strut bumper and barely two fingers. To me that doesn't sound like a lot of travel so I was thinking it settled from sitting so long with the weight of the front end on it.
That does make sense that maybe is a bushing somewhere because if the tires had cracks all over them from sitting then other rubber else where is probably compromised. And putting such demand on the suspension with hard brittle rubber, Im going to bring it to a suspension shop and have them take their time and really look at every part of the suspension to see if we can figure this out
I would like if someone could get me a measurement either from the car to the ground (somewhere I could duplicate the measurement easily) or like what I did from lifting the strut accordion style cover up and seeing how much space is from the top of the cylinder to the strut bumper while the car is parked and suspension is loaded. this way I can see if maybe the springs or strut is worn.
