Question Crud in the plastic wheel trim

I'm sure it has a name, but I don't know it. Regardless, I had to leave my NX outside during Hurricane Matthew. As a result, a lot of soggy leaves and other crud got blasted under the trim surrounding the wheels wells (and the trim under the doors as well). Tried as I've might, I can't seem to clear all the crud from the wheel area. I tried traditional cleaning, blasting with the hose, blasting with a WaterPik, sliding something behind there... all to no avail. Still gunky back there.

Has anyone had this issue, and if so, did you resolve it? Will I have to remove them to get them clean again?

Sorry to hear about your problems. Hope everyone was safe from the storm. Would strongly recommend not having the plastic wheel arches removed. Have had 4 attempts to professionally reinstall the front plastic over fenders after a change of the front bumper bar.
They simply will no longer fit flush and keep peeling away from the metal panel.
Best to get a detailer to do this type of fiddly job and clean all the crud out.

Might try a pressure washer at a car wash. Has much better pressure than a garden hose. Would also agree with professional detailer suggestion before I started removing the trim pieces.

It sounds like a detailer is a better option than trying to take the housing off... it's really annoying, but I guess guessing caught in a hurricane isn't a common occurrence
