Default Anyone with PCS having an issue?

I am still having a problem with the PCS going off randomly. It does it about 3x day now, and I don't put that many miles on the car each day. So, I'm estimating that within a 20-mile span the PCS goes off about 3 times. I've had dealer service check it out and they can't find any issues with the car. This happens even when there is no other traffic around. I'm at a loss and am getting frustrated. It's kind of startling when the "brake" light flashes along with the warning beeps.

I know I can turn the PCS off, but it just reactivates each time I start the car. Anyone else having a problem?

Mine has gone off once randomly going down a backroad with sharp turns. I reduced the distance and haven't had a problem since. However, I find PCS annoying in general, as there are a number of time I have been coming to stop and the brake system decided to BRAKE for me.

it usually ends with me in a tirade

I hope your tirade doesn't turn into road range.

The system in the NX does seem more sensitive than others I have driven. There are a number of situations when it triggers inadvertently. From the manual:

■ Conditions that may trigger the system even if there is no possibility of a collision
If the following obstructs the front of the sensor, the system judges that a collision may be possible and operates.

● When passing by a vehicle while making left or right turns or passing a vehicle in an opposite lane.
● When the vehicle rapidly approaches an object in front of it (such as another vehicle, toll gate, etc.)
● When climbing a steep hill, etc., and there are structures in the upper region of the road (billboards, low ceilings, street lamps, etc.)
● When driving through narrow passages or places with low ceilings (bridges, tunnels, overhead passes, etc.)
● When driving on an uneven road surface
● When metal objects are on the road surface causing level differences or protrusions in the road
● When an extreme change in vehicle height occurs
● When the radar sensor moves off position due to its surrounding area being subjected to a strong impact.
● When there is an obstacle on the side of an entrance of a curb for road (guardrails, etc.)
● When your vehicle is tilted upwards (due to towing a trailer or during emergency tow-
ing, heavy loads in the luggage compartment, etc.).
When the system is activated in the situations described above, there is also a possibility that the brakes will be applied with a force greater than normal.

I find the first situation the most common.

The other option is that you can reduce sensitivity rather than switch the system off entirely. From the manual:

Changing the pre-collision system
Changing the alert timing of the pre-collision system
Each time the PCS switch is pressed, the response to the distance changes as follows.
1 Far
2 Middle*
3 Near
*: Default setting

Turning off the pre-collision system Press the PCS switch for 3 seconds
The PCS warning light turns on and a message is shown on the multi-infor- mation display.
To turn on the system, press the PCS switch again. The system is set to ON each time the engine switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode.

I would perhaps suggest turning it off. It seems easy enough to pay attention and activate the brake with my right foot when required.
