Good job, Lexus and Takeshi Tanabe (Global Design manager for Lexus)! 👍👌

Nice photo.

I've seen a few non F-Sports out in the wild and I do think that they look very good.

I do prefer the F-Sport fuller bumper but the shark-nose bumper on the non F-Sports only looks funny to me when I look at them directly on the side.

Like we all said, the NX with the missing jaw still looks good if you angle it at an angle where you can't tell how deep the jaw area is like the previous person posted.

At this angle, it looks like someone removed the jaw

Its not even a reasonable way to judge a car because the photos are shot from an angle that is not the same as the typical human eye level. We are not toddlers, we see cars from a different point of view and that is the reason why people are overly critical of cars on the internet before they see the cars in person for themselves, then slowly change their opinion over time as they get more exposure.

Base NX is typically people who don't necessarily want to make a loud statement, that is why there is the F-Sport, for those who like a fuller appearance.

Either way, NX is at max capacity worldwide, if you don't like the car, someone else will. NX is a hot product and the consumers are positively reacting to it at an overwhelming rate. Other car makers are envious that they don't have their own hot shot CUV. I've been following Lexus press and the NX is just something that is an undeniable success.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of people ask dealers if there's a way to get the F-Sport bumper without buying a full F-Sport package. This kind of information should eventually find it's way to someone who matters.
Since Lexus is quickly selling every last NX they make, I can tell you that I'm pretty sure where your criticism will go: the dustbin.

There really isn't.

There is always a demographic of people who don't like something about a car and "feel if their voice is heard" something will change, it won't.

Exactly. Kenji has been talking about the NX since January: "What should I offer on this one?", comparing it to the IS and the Tesla, etc.

Did he actually ever buy one (or anything)?

I didn't care about the luxury model. I bought the car for the f sport grill and I ask for the best one. Which is f sport 2 and I have every option I can get.

Comparing the IS and a Tesla? No one cross shops those on price alone lol

I liked the front end of the reg NX better than the F-Sport. That and a few other reasons are why I bought it. That's why we have options, people can get what they want. I don't care if others like something I don't. What difference does it make. As long as there's a choice we can all get what we want.

I understand the logic. "To disprove that the frontend is ugly statement, let's go through the OP's previous posts and discredit him"

As I said in my OP, it's not just me that thinks the front end is missing something.
Lexus' own marketing team, professional reviewers and many other members on this forum thinks the same.

Yes, many cars do have haters, but I'm a Lexus fan and usually open to newer looks. I want to own this car. I just wish Lexus would change rr not have changed one thing.

Yes, there was a time I was considering an IS / Tesla
After a long time.. I decided to
drop the IS - Loved the way it looked. I feel a bit too old to be driving it, although it looks great. You see a lot of kids driving it in the bay area
drop the Tesla - I really really wanted the auto-pilot but after test driving, I can't justify the price. Great statement car, but there are too many on the road in the bay area anyways. I'm definitely pre-ordering the Model 3, but maybe Google or Apple will have a self-driving car by release time?
ES - I'm still considering. I currently drive an Acura RL so it would just be a similar replacement
NX - Has the IS look (I know, bear with me) but with a nice big cabin inside (I'm over 6') with occasional need to load up big items

There is always a hater of what a car looks like, but to be honest, if you don't like what the car looks like, that's fine, voice it once and move on.

To say "Lexus' own marketing team" dislikes it, I call your bluff, as you probably don't know anyone from there. Furthermore, they shouldn't have a job if they are discrediting a car their company makes. As for "professional" reviewers and other members, they are normal people who think their opinion somehow matters.....let me be the first to tell you, they don't. I am yet to find a reviewer in which their "opinion" was valued and impacted my car purchase whatsoever.

I still call your bluff on cross shopping a 50k IS and 100K Tesla....

Yes, the IS is driven by a lot of kids in the Bay area and in southern Florida because mom and dad purchase them for their child. If you honestly care about that, I think you might have some security issues you need to address before your car purchase. My 26yr old wife has one as her DD ('15 IS350), its an Fsport with an ARK exhaust on it, and I've seen people stop what their doing to watch and listen to it go by.

As for the Tesla, if you have to "justify" the price, lets be honest, you couldn't afford it. You buy a 100k car because you WANT it, there is never a discussion of WHY you should have it.

Based on everything you've said, I'd recommend the MDX for you. Reliable and not the family face you dislike.

No, not at all. But dude, it's been ten months of this with you. Ten months of wishing things were different. Ten months of comparing this apple to an orange and a banana. Ten months of nothing particularly helpful to anyone.

We're just tired.

Just making a point that F sport models do not cost more than "base" models in some cases. I paid more not to get a F sport. I wanted real leather, wood, lane departure alert, pcs with radar cruise, ventilated seats.
