Default Anyone has an issue with A/C

I have an issue with air conditioning system. It takes about more than a minute to get it colder. It is very frustrating in hot days like now.

Does anyone else have the same problem? Or it is normal for the NX model? I wanted to hear from you guys before talking to a dealer.

I have a white NX F Sport and live in Texas where the summers can get 100 F. I have not had any issues with our NX's A/C system. I also use a windshield sun shade when parked out in the sun.

Yeah, I find mine to be lacking on really warm days.

Mine blows hot air for the first 10-20 seconds before it blows cold air. I noticed if you have the S-flow button ON, the AC is not sufficient. Make sure S-Flow is not on.

The thing that bugs me is the fan takes forever to get up to speed. I remember having a max button that would start at top speed as soon as you turned it on.

It does take a few seconds (five, perhaps?) to get to full speed - not that big of a deal for me. Note that if you have ECO mode turned on, the fan speed and compressor performance will be reduced. On hot, sunny days I use NORMAL mode until the car cools down.

I have also noticed that it takes longer for cool air to blow if the car has sat unused for days (as opposed to a few hours).

No ... and, as one might imagine, the ventilated leather seats are a plus in this regard.

Definitely - the major reason I didn't get an F-Sport.

I don't have that issue. Make sure also the car is in Drive or Sport mode. Eco mode slow down the AC.

If you find the fan speed slow to react then manually increase the fan speed opposed to relying on auto to read the cabin temp first and then react.

Depending on whether you have someone in the back seat or not, you could turn off the rear fan and keep the fan power in the front.

Good to know, I'm always in eco mode.

I do drive in Eco most of the time.

I live in Texas with mercury reaching 108 few weeks back. I saw the fan kicking in little slow, but once it gets up to speed it is cold.

I do use the custom heat shield for the front.

Last week I went and tinted all windows with Ceramic IR heat rejection tint including the front windshield, now I have to turn up the temperature once in a while as it gets too cold.

Lexus is aware of this issue in certain NX models. They don't have a fix yet but are gathering information and submitting it to their technical assistance team. You could take it to the dealership so they can document the problem and can notify you once they come up with a fix.
