Default 2016 Models

Any idea when the 2016 models will be hitting the dealerships? I'm not sure if waiting will make much of a difference in negotiating as local dealerships are only keeping 2-3 on the lot, but it's worth a shot.

Normally the fall season (sept-nov) brings in the new models. Because the Nx seems to move really well on the lot. I'm sure the 15s will be sold similarly to what they're going for now. They only seem to discount them more aggressively after Jan 1st, but there may be a new updated feature to the 16 that's worth waiting for.

I doubt there will be any major changes between the 15 and 16. The 17 may have some of the new features that the RX will get that are not on the NX yet. What you may find on the 16s are more inventory of the Meteoric blue (very rare), lane departure system (very few have it on the east coast), and other features that seem rare in some markets. Now, if they have found a fault in something you may see an updates part for the 16. This updated part could be something like an updated screw somewhere, better shock, or something that no one would every think of when buying a vehicle but will help the overall ride. The 16 may come with an updated infotainment software package but that would probbaly be made available to the 15s as well.

I really really hope that they will install the 3-beam LED headlights as standard on 2016 model of NX.. or something that we can buy in the dealership, not to special order it and wait it for 3/4 months to ship. fingers-crossed

Echoing wildeklave, expect very minor barely visible updates. A mid-cycle refresh has the bigger changes typically in year 4 onward.

You do realize that the 3 projector LEDs require a whole different wiring harness than the 1 projector, right?

Not everything can be a plug and play. Furthermore, is that really something you want your dealer to be doing?

They will not make them standard yet. Acura has their pearl headlights as standard. Lexus is looking for a way to keep costs down on the base models. This also helps differentiate those who bought the low end base models from the higher end more expensive versions. If anything they should include them in the Luxury package for both FWD and AWD models. I think I saw some posts that some who are shopping for FWD models are having a tough time finding the triple beams.

Again, this may be something for the 2017 model after the 2016 RX is released.

When we looked at getting a NX F Sport the dealer told us that in our region, the NX does not get the triple beam headlights. Its a special order only.

The problem is that if we special ordered a NX now it would arrive sometime in Sept/Oct. Thats very close to when the new model year goes on sale. We asked about ordering a 2016 and he said they start orders for 2016 in Late July/August to arrive late Nov/Dec.

It's also very rare that a car get any significant update following a new model year. So expect the 2016 to be pretty much that same.

Well touch less rear door opening can pretty much be counted in as standard feature for those with the power rear door options. I seem to have read that they incorporated this in the 2015 builds already.

I'm not sure I believe your dealer on this. My dealer (Tennessee) told me that they are simply ordered like any other option. They (my dealer) just haven't ordered but a couple with them yet to see what demand would be. Lucky me, there are only a couple in my neck of the woods with them.

Maybe my dealer was wrong in his statement...

True but the dealers in this region (Southwest) just do not order them with the triple beam LED's for whatever reason. So you're not gonna find them on the lots. In order to get them in this region, one has to special order.

We're talking the same thing, then. I read your earlier post as "it's not even an option". TN is no different than TX in that regard...don't know why the dealers aren't ordering them with the LED's. I know that ours was one that had them, but somehow managed to stay on the lot, unsold, for three weeks while 4 others were sold in that time frame...none of which had the LEDs...and, at least one other was an F Sport Silver Lining like ours. I don't know how long the car was on the lot BEFORE we saw it. Who knows, maybe it was on their lot for 5-6 weeks before we bought it. Personally, I didn't mind paying the $1,200 extra for them. In fact, I wouldn't have bought the car without them...I would have ordered or waited until one came in with them.

I hope they make 19 inch dark chrome wheels standard on the F Sport models. The 18 inch look too small. If they do, I'll buy a set immediately.
