Radio Idiosyncracies
Hi,
I've noticed some odd behavior from the radio, depending on what one uses to control/change the stations. I'm referring to a non-Navi NX.
I've preset about 30 stations, mostly SiriusXM channels but a couple of FM channels as well.
The main screen I use on the multimedia display is the screen that shows the preset stations.
Here's what I've noticed:
1. When changing channels using the scroll wheel/joystick, the hilighted station is in white and that white moves either up or down with each turn of the scroll wheel/joystick.
2. However, when changing channels using the steering wheel control, the hilighted station is in blue and that blue moves either up or down with each press of either the up or down steering wheel button.
The problem is that these two methods of changing channels/stations are not in sync. That is, if I change the channel using the scroll wheel/joystick and then change the channel using the steering wheel control, the steering wheel control picks up from wherever the blue hilighted station is. It doesn't pick up from the white hilighted station I just came from using the scroll wheel/joystick.
This seems counter-intuitive to me, especially coming from an Audi A5 where I could control the preset stations with either steering wheel or scroll wheel with no differentiation between the two.
Is this the normal behavior and, if so, what is the reason Lexus set it up this way?
Thank you.

I never noticed that. I'll have to check that out next time I'm in the car.
One thing I've noticed is that on a hard bump my radio source will change or the radio turn off completely...kinda like a record skipping to the next song. Something must be loose in there.
