Got my VIN and arrival dates today.

Looks like she will be in NJ end of April.

My birthday is in May, so I guess the NX will be my birthday present lol

 

So you placed order with your dealer on 1/19/15 and just got the VIN today? Just trying to gauge how long a process this is..... my salesman has been a little cagey with detail - I seem to be learning more from this forum than I do from them.
I was told there was some sort of March 3rd deadline with Lexus to place orders for the next shipment, and apparently got mine in on the nick of time. Sound accurate or bunk?

 

Yes, my order went into the system on 1/19/15.

This is very close to all orders I've seen thus far. its about 6 weeks until you get a build date. This is pretty usual, and if you look at the thread by MB, you will see this aligns with his time frame perfectly.

Its odd that your dealership isn't being straight forward with you. My dealer told me it was going to be 14-16 weeks until I got my car, and the time frame is pretty accurate. It will be 15 weeks by the time I get it.

It took 10 weeks for my camaro, and she didn't have to go across an ocean. So I find this pretty acceptable.

I think there are cutoffs, but I'm not overly familiar. Maybe cb or MR2 know more?

 

Sounds right to me, my dealer told me my order will be placed at the end of February. He did that, so I assume trying to do before the March 3rd deadline.

Yes, at least in Canada, dealers place the order monthly (my dealer it's mid-month) so you hope to not sign the deal the day after the orders were just placed .

This is why dealers will typically say up to 4 months since if you just missed the order, you got the worst case lead time, otherwise best case is 3 months.

@skr9 - congrats on the order. I know how excruciating the wait can be but hopefully this forum can ease the waiting pain a little!

Thanks guys. The timing couldn't be much better though. Will arrive right in time for my birthday, and my new wheels for the camaro will be arriving right around that time as well. Gonna be an awesome May.

Only problem is, i won't have the NX broken in in time to take it up to Southern Tier for a brewery tour.

10 weeks now and I still do not have a VIN or even a build date. Anyone else having long lead times on orders, or am I dealing with a bad dealer??

 

Finally took delivery today. Ordered 1/19/15, delivered 5/9/15.



And taking a spot with my wife's car. (Poor NX has to sit outside since the Camaro takes up the 2nd garage door)


Now she is off for bra and tint.

Hoping to get a pic with the camaro next week after my new wheels arrive.

Congrats. Your IS / NX combo is exactly the reverse of ours. EW NX and NGP IS for us.
