Are you replacing one with the other?

If so, IMO you're going to be very let down. You are coming from a 416hp RWD V8 at about 3900lbs, and would be going to a 235hp 4banger turbo FWD bias at about 5000lbs.

Its an apples and oranges comparison to be honest.

My first suggestion would be to keep the IS-F, garage her, and use the NX as your family daily driver (thats my plan with my camaro). Otherwise I envision you as one of those people that will be like "I wish I woudln't have gotten rid of my sports car..."

If you're interested in dumping it, any info on the IS-F? I have been in the market for one quite a few times now looking for the right deal. And I figure, if I don't get one of the previous gen for a good number, I'm gonna probably wait until the next IS-F comes out or the RC-F is refreshed, whichever comes first....

 

While I agree with the overall sentiment of your post, note that an NX is around 4,000 pounds, not 5,000 (FWD 3,940lbs and AWD 4,050lbs).

 

The curb weight is 4000, the gross weight is 5,000.

I can't seem to find the gross weight of the IS-F....

So weight maybe be closer than I said.

 

I been driving my wife's RX350 more and more often. I feel so much safer driving that high its like peace of mind to me not to mention the utility part of it. My crystal ball is showing me a future trade of my IS for an RX350 F sport or NX F Sport.

As one gets older you find yourself tired and bored of the "low rider life" and you then start appreciating what utility vehicles can do for you. Its like you been missing out all that time.....

Do whats good for you not what others have to say about it. At the end of the day you are the one that need to enjoy what you ride and what it can do for you. You had your fun with the IS-F
maybe its time to settle down.....

I also like the NX and I better not drive one because I have a feeling I may end up buying it

 

If you are ready to give up power and handling for utility with style, you won't be disappointed with the NX, though the F Sport would be your best fit.

 

Not quite sure why you would use gross weight, when it's far simpler to compare curb weight which is more accurate.

ISF 3715 lbs
NX 4200 lbs

To the OP, I think you'll find the transition fine. Of course, the power/handling isn't at the same level, but sometimes a CUV/SUV is a lot more practical/comfortable compared with a sports sedan/coupe.
