Default OEM Tire Replacement

I currently have the NX300 F Sport 2 that came with 235/55-18 and will need a tire replacement. I am looking for all seasons. I would like to also know if I would benefit from going with 225/60-18 tires? What would I gain?

In addition, I do enjoy a quiet ride and a lot of city and highway driving so a good tread life is also important. I was looking at Pirelli maybe Michelin... The price doesn't really matter and nothing Made in China....lol.....

Thanks.....

A 225/60/18 will give you a slightly taller sidewall, thus a softer ride. As for tyre selection, if you do a lot of miles/KM, the best tyre would be the Michelin Defender 2. It gives a softer. quieter ride and long tread life. Unfortunately, the harder rubber compound may not be up for an Ontario, CA winter. It shouldn't be an issue if you have dedicated winter tyres. If you want a one tyre solution, I recommend the Michelin CrossClimate 2. It is a great year round tyre. It will have the softer ride of the Defender 2, but it won't have the long tread life. It is a little noisier on worn/rougher pavement.

I highly recomend Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus-3. IMHO, much better vs OEM Michelin. Additionally, this tire has 6 year / 70K warranty.
