2013 "CERTIFIED" & "MEMBER SUPPORTED" Event Calendar
This Event Calendar is posted EVERY YEAR to help guide new members in choosing the events that CL members post in this section. Events are categorized into three basic types as described below. The descriptions should be helpful in deciding what type of event you wish to attend and it also allows you to plan your schedule with the dates posted far enough in advance.
The other reason for the calendar is to strategically organize the dates selected in order to minimize conflicts with other member planned events. The event organizers go to great efforts to plan out this calendar and select the dates. As a result these events should take PRIORITY over any other event occurring on the same weekend and not listed below.
NorCal Certified Events :
ClubLexus member Hosted event
- This event is Hosted by a Veteran NorCal member with past experience and a proven track record in hosting successful events/ activities
- Good attendance guaranteed
- Well organized activity
- Meet and Greet
- High likelihood to see many veteran member cars that ONLY come out to these member organized events (GS , LS and SC model participation can be rare outside of these big events)
- A great activity for new members to meet the veteran members ( Active members already know each other and so it is easy for us to tell who the new members are
NorCal Member Supported Events :
This event is NOT a NorCal Member OWNED activity, though it is an event that a Veteran Member "might" Host or Support at some capacity to represent Nor Cal participation
- Some Member attendance, though participation level varies
- Some level of CL member support with the activity, possibly arrange roll in, caravans, allocate dedicated spaces, etc.
- New members may or may not be able to locate veteran members who know each other ( We don’t know you and you don’t know us)
- Meet and greet process usually not in place
- Some of the meets tend to be smaller and more personal, so it’s a good event for first time members to attend
- For these types of events, CL members may play a smaller role in participation, so with this type of activity it may be a bit harder to locate veteran members since there are both Lexus and non-Lexus people and we may be scattered, but if you are not shy than feel free to find and identify another Lexus member, introduce yourself. People are pretty friendly. Better yet, PM a member who has listed that they are attending and ask to coordimate a meet up time at the event
All other meets not listed
The intention of the event calendar is to guide new members as to which events that the Veteran Nor Cal Lexus members support and have some level of involvement with the activity to ensure a good first experience.
- An event that is NOT being listed here DOES NOT mean that you should not attend.
- Meets not listed on this calendar may in fact be events that members will attend and a thread may be posted, however the expectations as noted in the Certified Meets and Member Supported Meets are not necessarily supported, or the event may be hosted by a non-senior member, posting their first activity, etc.
- Some event postings are from an outsider of the community with no "direct involvement" with Lexus. ( Check to see if their post count is very low; that can sometimes be a clue)
- NorCal member attendance is not guaranteed. Some events may have no Lexus attending, or the ones that do attend are not CL members.
- Organizing caravans, roll in, reserving spots for our group, etc. is not guaranteed
- People who are not looking to meet with veteran CL members and find it easy to meet Lexus or non-Lexus people on their own should be fine with attending this type of event.
If you are interested in organizing your own activity and would like to get it listed on this calendar or if would like to give suggestions for new and different activities, please PM me and I will provide you with details.

Fast N Furious at the Drive In, Friday, May 31

Description: What better way to watch Fast N Furious 6, then by rolling up in our cars at the Capitol Drive In, bring folding chairs to sit outside on a hot San Jose night, with the movie audio playing through an FM station through everyone’s car audio system!
There are not many drive in’s left in NorCal, so if you have never been to one, here’s your chance !

Description: Second Annual Charity Fundraiser Event All proceeds will support a Charity event for www.foodallergywalk.org/FAANadix
There will be many (non-automotive) activities to enjoy including sports celebs, martial arts and food trucks
Spectators will have a separate parking area from those that choose to enter in the car show. (Your participation in the Car Show is Optional)
Awards Categories for Lexus, Euro, Domestic, VIP, Best Crew, etc.

“Wheels N Meals Monthly GTG”

LOCATION: SAN JOSE

Type of activity: THIS IS A MONTHLY EVENT where typically 300 + cars of all types are in attendance.
Description: Large gathering, no reserved parking, members come in and out all day so it is very hard to coordinate a planned meet up of Lexus Owners. We will put up an Official ClubLexus Banner whenever there are 5 or more cars in attendance. This will be the easiest way for new members to find us.

The new 2013 Event Calendar is up. Get Excited!
For those that don’t know we’re starting this New Year with the AMF bowling mini meet (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nor...mini-meet.html). Perfect friends and family event so all you new comers who have been lurking on the forums this would be a nice icebreaker to come out and meet some of the Club Lexus members. Don’t be shy and come out and hang out with us!
As always we’re open to seeking feedback/suggestions from others as to what activities you the members would like to see and also we’re on the lookout for any people who would like to help organize in upcoming events as each scheduled event takes a lot of time, coordination and planning. If you’re interested in organizing your own activity or would like to give suggestions for new and different activities, please PM RMMGS4 for more details!

For more details on a specific event search for the corresponding “event aftermath” thread and in there you’ll find tons of event coverage such as pics and other eye popping goodies.

for the event in San Jose in March, how do we get notified? which thread do we have to follow? Also where is the event calendar sticky? I'm sorry I don't know my way around this website haha, I'm still new here and trying to figure things out. Thanks in advance.

We’re still working on getting our social network tools (Facebook, twitter, etc.) up and running for better event notification to all our members/subscribers. Until then do check back on the forum from time to time for any upcoming updates.
Specific threads for the events start popping up a few weeks in advance allowing ample time for members/subscribers to register, sign in or follow. This includes caravan organization, event details, etc.
So stay tuned!
