Watch out where you get repair services
It is bad! A few local repair shops got cought cheating on customers.
While there are shops trying to survive in this slow econ crisis by doing honest work at slim margins, there are also shops trying to cut cost by cheating on customers.
A friend just show me this LINK about actions taking by Channel-4-News.
Beware of the shop when asking for repair service!

That's the reason why I do the following to avoid these type of scams:
- Ask what exactly what needs to be done, repaired, replaced or fixed.
- Get an esitmate quote for the type of service.
- Get it on paper (hardcopy)
- Ask them how long will it take.
- Stay w/ your car and overlook/oversee the type of service being done from start to finish (if 4 hours or less).
If they can't committ to at least 90% of these items, then somethings "slim shady" about them.
It's so scary nowadays, even if the shop is reputable or not, it depends on the mechanic doing the work. you just have to make sure and keep an eye on him while the service is being done.
I always stay close to my car while the work is being done, but at the same time, I don't interfere or block their way.
You're paying for the work being done, so it's ok to ask questions if you feel something's not right.
