Body Shops in the Bay Area

Lately, a lot of members are starting to go to Active Auto Body in Sunnyvale.
http://www.activeautobody.net/
They are expert in color matching but quality always comes at a cost, don't kid yourself.
Body and paint is definitely an area where you get what you pay for.
A lot of people do Price Shopping Only. Some shops will see that and might quote low. If you have a problem they may not take care of you if they already gave a low ball price.
So the challenge is to find a "Quality" shop that charges "fair" prices for the work performed.
These guys stand behind their work.
It won't cost you an arm and a leg, but it will probably cost you an arm.
Ask for Sean when you go there for a quote and it wouldn't hurt to mention you got the recommendation from ClubLexus.

Autowest Collison did a really good job color matching my Starfire Pearl. They actually redid it twice because they weren't satisfied the first time.
PS: RMMGS4, saw a (presumed yours) IS300 at Mitty the other day. Boy is it gorgeous. Great work!

It ran about $1000 to replace and repaint my rear bumper. I'm pretty sure it was around $400 for paint. They are pretty pricy but they did a great job and someone else's insurance was picking up the tab. They are also recommended by Lexus of Stevens Creek and Smythe Mercedes (Stevens Creek).

I got my IS-F done at "Garage Inc." in Burlingame. They do good work for even better prices. I got my door trim, wheels, roof, taillights and emblems done (check out pics in the IS-F boards under "Blacked out stock wheels"). The owner is a stand-up guy. I was a little upset at a couple minor scratches that were on the front bumper when they did my front grille. I'm getting a front lip installed on the F and plan to take my sc430 in for exterior additions.
If anyone has questions pm me.
