NY - 2005 inspections
A little background
I just finished having my NY inspection done today and found out some interesting news. In April 2005, all cars post 1996 will be inspected electronically. I assume it's just plugging a code reader into your ecu or what not. However, I also learned that all pre 96 cars will need to be inspected at certain sites, not your local gas station anymore.
I see a few problems. What are you post 96 guys gonna do with aftermarket computer management? As for the pre 96 guys, what are we going to do about our aftermarket exhausts if we have to go to state facilities?
