Default Getting windows tinted

I'm planning to tint the front door windows of my GX470 so there is a smaller difference in tint compared to rear ones. The MD state allows no less than 35% tint, so I'd like to stay within that limit to avoid getting into any trouble.

I have two questions:
(1) The factory tint on front windows is 70%. What percent tint do I need to add so it doesn't fall below 35%?

(2) I'm considering Performance Tinting located in Columbia, MD. I've seen mixed reviews from people who used them, so I'm not convinced yet. Let me know if there is a unanimous consensus among the area folks on a go-to tint place. I want quality tint that is similar to factory matte finish and not the mirror/shiny stuff.

Thanks.

i was recommended to performance tinting over 4 years ago. i've had 2 cars done there,, i think half of my work has had them do their tint, i know first hand at least 10 people i've sent there from CL/Neloc and i've not ever heard a negative word about their work,, although i thought they acted a little snoody like they were all busy and what not,, most likely because they were all busy and what not. i would recommend going up there and asking them what tint you should get so as not to be illegal. i'm sure they can help you with it.

i seriously need to go up there and and pick up some sort of royalty check or get a coupon for 1 free tint since i've given them so much business if only they knew,, or cared for that matter

remember 35% over the factory tinted glass is darker then 35, so honestly the only thing that passes state inspection is 50% which is not noticeable, if you want to stay out of trouble either tint your windows 50% or dont get it done. I've been pulled over with 35% and my car has tan interior which looks much lighter then grey or black.

I'm not planning to do 35% over factory tint since that will make it too dark. I think getting 50% may work since that will make it darker than what it is now. Here are some pictures of my car that I posted on another thread
