Press Release
Shakotan style = extremely low cars
kyusha style = old cars
yankii style = bright colors and wide bodies
grachan style = circuit race inspired.
If you take these four basic styles and mix together you have a style that comes from japan.
Traditional VIP = shakotan + gangster (conjecture) + luxury vehicle traditional Japanese made
extreme VIP = shakotan + yankii with or without colors
Exe = a mild version of shakotan + understated but nice styling [what I think your aiming for sojah]
drift = grachan + yankii or even kyusha mixed in.
All in all everything evolved from another style which make our hobby grow. The fact is that all the new style respected the old and can up with a new name to classify it.
I guess that's why I get upset when people claim American VIP, or euro VIP.
Heck Samantha and I own an sc that's super low with Leon hardritts and auto colture on it. I don't claim VIP or even drift (since that's what they are known for) cuz it's cool. It's just a car with mods we like. I guess that's the point I'm trying to get across. Do what you like to your car. Don't catagorize yourself in a class cuz it's cool. If you do something different call it something different.

but about not categorizing your vehicle into a certain genre is something that gets forced upon us and you have to agree that there is 'usually' a genre that 'most' vehicles can closely relate to. however the original statement of american cars not being vip is still a hasty generalization that even using your own logic when comparing the dub style to it could still be a mash up of a few of these with some additional ones mixed in. therefore i would say something more along the lines that american cars are attempting to broach the vip realm with some of their own unique styling mods but don't exactly fit into the entire vip spectrum by definition.
i also do not like the people that do a few mods and claim jdm.. at my last work there was a guy that had an infiniti g35 coupe and put a few cheap bolt on parts here and there and put skyline badging all over it and claimed to have a r35 skyline. this guy drove me nuts and made me sick to be compared to in our office as we were both jdm car wannabees even though i was rockin an all white and black gs400 w/ 20" chrome lowenharts with the aggressive offset, with a few mods of my own.
i understand a genre or naming gets forced on us when we do modify our cars some people fight the generalization and some just go with it to find accepetance. this is where everything gets skewed and discussions like this pop up all the time.
i also understand that these innovators with american cars are not doing your "typical DUB style" and for lack of better words cross breeding with the "VIP style" which was seen in how VIP or other forms of styling i described came from japan. the underlying point is when a style was mixed they came up with a new "NAME" to call it. so from my stand point that is why i do not accept the American VIP or Euro VIP labeling.
VIP = Japanese luxury cars with low stance, body kit, and other accessories. Which only a handful of them are available to us in the states.
other VIP guys might have different view points im just stating mine. hopefully some one else chimes in. lol

Everything is considered VIP today Joe. All you need is a fusa and some JP neck pads
It's the same reason why only American cars can be muscle cars.
