haha, nah I wouldn't bring this heap over to wrench fest.
I think its time I bring the red one out. she feels a little neglected.

back in Texas the pearl white ones were all over the place.

It has 275k on it and I picked it up for under a grand. The 97 tails and the un-cracked window sills are almost worth more than what I paid. He had no idea the tails were an upgrade, he was wondering why the turn signals were "blinking too fast", lol.

Thanks, I would definately recommend them. I still catch myself staring at the body lines and wonder how they designed it in the early 90's.

Figured out the belt problem sorta, you can order a "custom" dayco belt by reading their part numbers.

Dayco Poly Cog belt part numbers identify the size and length of the belt. Here is an example; 5060560
5 = Dayco Poly Cog Belt
06 = Number of Ribs
0560 = 56.0 Effective Length

so an sc300 is a 5060763 which is 76.3 inches.

I found a dayco belt at advanced auto which is a 5060775, about an inch longer, which should fit just right on my setup hopefully. took me a while to figure this info out.

Thanks for the offer, the longer belt worked great. tensioner is perfectly lined up as well.
I actually think the sc400 and sc300 use the same belt. go figure..

I was so happy I could drive the car around for a few days, then my roomate was trying to yell something at me so I lowered the passenger window, and of course with my luck it wont come back up. Has a broken regulator.
the project continues...

Apparently your window has to work to pass inspection.
unless you physically remove the window from the car, then they don't have to test it and you can pass and put it back on later. i know, silly aint it

I did change out all the cluster bulbs so all the lights work
but the speedometer needle is out. I'll have to settle for 80-90% of things working on the beater for the time being.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. it will be an ongoing project for me.
Now I can really start building the red ones engine without having to walk everywhere.

yup, it was for sale for 1 day before i scooped it up on april 21st i think.

Well, Gazis friend Bart hooked it up with a bunch of parts, I got 2 really nice seats, a nice passenger door panel, and got the window fixed.

Ordered some daizen rack bushings and already installed them, steering has been improved greatly. next up HID's and steam Vacuuming the floormats.
