Default Modding time!

Hi everyone! So I'm going to finally start making some changes to my car, Carlise is giving me motivation. I am going to purchase some side mirror blinkers on e-bay. I've been shoppin for a better quality than the Hong Kong plastic covers with the adhesive. The ones I found on e-bay appear to be OEM quality. Let me know what you think.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

I wanted to know if anyone can recommend a good shop to paint and install this for me in the Philly area. The seller offers to paint it for $68 and I'm not sure whether I should do that or go to a shop you guys recommend. As soon as I decide who to paint them, I'll make the purchase. Any help would be great!

My next mod will be lowering springs. I've been meaning to do it since the Summer, but I still can't decide on which springs to get. Tanabe NF210 or DF210s. Philly/Jersey streets are really bad. I probably won't have enough money to get new rims and tires by May (well no, Ana won't let me spend the money that is the main reason ), but I was thinking of putting new brakes and drilled rotors and some spacers to make the fitment look a little better with my stock 17s. I know you guys will help me do it right. any suggestions on this too? oh if you haven't met me and my car, it's an 05 ES330 blue onyx. Thanks!

Lexgirl, even those ones that you have shown will have to be held on with adhesive b/c it is a cover that slips on over top of the existing mirror. I think that it looks good, but am a little weary of the fact that they advertise it to fit on an ES and they have an LS430 shown (just knit-picking). Take your time moding, as they will come with your vision, as well as Ana's permission (LOL!!). $68 to color match to you car (just painting) seems to be a bit on the high side to me. Most body shops will do them for like $30-$40 bucks, and maybe a few more $$'s to install. Shop around, and you may get a better deal. When I bought mine, I had mine painted for $30 and I installed and wired them myself; it really wasnt that hard. Hardest part was playing "hide the wire". Lowering springs will set your car off some but be prepared, b/c the ride will not be AS soft as the stock ride; not uncomfortable at all, but not AS SOFT as stock.Drilled rotors will look very good with the new rims, but with the stockies on, right now, don't think you really will be able to see them(have to look at the 330 stockies, I could be wrong). Just take your time, you know that your NELOC fam has got ya.

Thanks Tony, I appreciate your suggestions. I e-mailed the seller and he said it will fit my car and I checked the feedback from other buyers and they had positive comments about the product. But based on what you said, I'm going to shop around for the paint job and just buy the part only.

Regarding lowering springs, I do want to go with a drop. I feel like the ES doesn't handle well on turns, sometimes I think my car is going to flip over taking an exit ramp. I know the lowering springs will help. I don't mind a stiffer ride, it's way too soft and bouncy anyway.

Hey Thai hit up Nigel. He's a vendor on here and was selling the mirror covers painted any factory color you wanted a while back. Check with him.

I have tein s-techs on my car, it definitely puts more confidence into driving the ES, but it doesnt make it any more capable IMO, exits that i could take at 80mph on stock suspension i can take maybe 85, but the tires start slidin out a bit. It might be because of the cold weather.

make sure u get stiffer struts. with the springs/struts i have i experience consistent bouncing along multiple bumps.

just be careful and if u have any more specific questions, let me know

Yeah, other members on the ES forum put the nf210s and they've been good so far. Not too many though, maybe 2. Most of the other ES members say that I need to replace my struts as well...eh, I don't know anything about cars, I'm gonna try the springs first.

No prob Ray, not too many people modding the ES330. There is one dude who went crazy on his 02 ES300 that has the same body type as me, coilovers, rotora brakes and drilled rotors, etc. Cost him over 10G's. I'm not crazy about his rims, but the drop is nice and I like the drilled rotors look. I can't spend that much, my girl would kill me.

LOL...yea man, no fires for me. I wish I was closer, I'd be there all the time with plenty of food and drinks if you guys help me do my car.

There's always room for change right?! I'm not going to do much, I just want minor improvements
